Digital Frame
Digital Frame. Buy yourself a digital frame and have some fun. If you enjoy taking or looking at photos of any type then the latest digital frames are perfect for displaying your photographs at their best.
The quality of image that is now possible with these electronic photo display devices is very impressive. However before you buy a digital frame there are some minimum requirements that you need to check for the digital frame you are thinking of buying.
High Resolution is a Must Have!
Digital frame use a Liquid Crystal Display. So if the digital frame you are considering does not have good resolution ignore it. Screen Resolution makes such a big difference to the quality of the image that you need to get this right.
Many different resolutions are available and you need a 640x480 resolution as a minimum or 800x600 if you can afford it. Any digital frame with a resolution below this minimum will not display images as well as the original photo and you will not like what you see.
So for the sharpest images you should always go for the highest resolution. If the digital frame you want seems cheap then check the resolution before buying.
Two aspect ratios that describe the shape of you image are available for digital frame and these are 4:3 and 15:9, with the 4:3 being the ratio for most images taken with todays point and shoot digital cameras.
Therefore a digital frame with a 4:3 aspect ratio will most likely display your photos the best in their original form. However a digital frame displaying the 15:9 ratio will give you a more impressive wide-screen image just like a mini TV.
Check the Memory Card Slot.
Make sure the digital frame you are thinking of buying accepts the same memory card that you use in your digital camera. Some digital frame have a multi-card reader, which means they can take several different types of memory card in the same slot, although only one at a time.
Different digital frame use different type of media cards, some single function frames are only designed for SD cards, so it's a good idea to consider what type of memory a digital frame uses before you buy. Don't buy a digital frame that builds in internal memory.
Do you need a USB port?
If you want to transfer photos or other images directly from your personal computer or digital camera using a standard USB cable then the digital frame must have a USB slot.
Other Options.
A digital frame that not only display the images, but also video, audio? Some of these products can only display pictures.
There are many other options now available for the digital frame, such as wifi connectivity to download images from the web, speakers, headphones, remote controls, alarm clocks and many more.
